Speeding
Speeding is a contributing factor in more than 30% of all fatal accidents, many of which are South Carolina auto accidents. Over 13,000 lives are lost every year in speeding-related car accidents.
If you were injured in an accident in which speeding played a role, or someone you love was killed in a speeding-related auto accident, it is important for you to seek legal help.
The South Carolina lawyers at Harris & Graves use every method possible to prove negligence on the part of a speeding driver so that our clients can receive the highest monetary reward owed them.
According to South Carolina law, motorists are required to operate vehicles at a speed that is reasonable or prudent. Any speed which exceeds the following limits is evidence of unreasonable driving:
- 70 MPH on the interstate and other freeways where official signs notifying motorists of this speed are posted.
- 30 MPH in business or residential districts.
- 55 MPH in other locations unless the department of highway traffic dictates otherwise.
