South Carolina Dune Buggy Accident with Semi-Truck Leaves One Dead

Sunday night around 6pm in Berkeley County, a South Carolina man was killed when a tractor trailer ran into a dune buggy on Highway 17-A near Moncks Corner. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and coroner’s office are still investigating the fatal crash. A 27-year-old from Bonneau, SC, a passenger in the dune buggy when the accident occurred, died at the scene from his injuries. Driver in a Columbia Hit-and-Run With School Bus Still Wanted by Police

On Wednesday, Feb 15th, in the late afternoon, a hit-and-run collision occurred with a school bus at an intersection in Columbia. Witnesses reported that after slamming into the front of the bus, the driver fled the scene, leaving behind the damaged vehicle and a stunned passenger. The Columbia Police Department has released a name in connection with the accident and has issued a $1000 reward for information leading to their arrest. According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, Greenville County had more deadly wrecks last year than any other county in the state. Reporting 53 for the year 2011, Greenville County had the most traffic deaths. Lexington County and Charleston County came in at a close second and third with 51 and 49.
