An Anderson man has been charged with driving under the influence after a crash that injured a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper. A deputy with the Anderson County Police Department says that the 29-year-old alleged drunk driver was traveling south on state Highway 81 North when he turned his pickup truck into the path of a southbound trooper’s car around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30. The pickup driver was treated and released from the hospital before being booked into the Anderson County jail. It is unknown whether he has retained a South Carolina attorney.
